School safety has long been a concern of many, but its focus has shifted to the forefront in recent years, with high-profile school violence incidences occurring both nationally and internationally. Ongoing Bullying is highly destructive and a focus on safety must increase. Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
•    Identify the goal of the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) legislation
•    Discuss the importance of data collection related to school safety
•    Discuss how the components of the SAVE legislation impact the prevention of violence in schools
•    Describe how educational, legal/regulatory, and environmental domains promote school safety within the SAVE legislation
•    Discuss risk and protective factors related to violence in schools 
-Satisfies the NYSED 2-Hour SAVE Workshop Requirements for NYS Educators.
